This week is National Transplant Week. Are you yourself a donor? I hope you are. There’s not one reason not to be, as when you’re gone you can give hope to other families and make sure your passing brings happiness to others.
Records show that in the UK there are just over 14 million registered donors. This is a pathetic total. I’m sure 99% of you would accept a donated organ if your life depended on it, so how come this total isn’t equal to the population of the UK? It makes no difference to YOUR life but it will to many others. I lost my father 8 years ago today after his body rejected the new liver, however his life was extended for 12 extra years because earlier on in his life he was fortunate enough to get the liver he needed, that’s 12 years I got to spend with my Dad I would never have had the opportunity to if people hadn’t been gracious enough to become a donor. All those memories would never have happened had he not lived, and for this reason I am thankful.
So to all my followers, and to anyone else who happens to read this. Become a donor, and give hope to families who need it.
